  1. Get 1 Cup Rajma or Red Kidney Beans
  2. Prepare 1 Cup Rice
  3. Prepare 2Large Onions
  4. Get 2Large Tomatoes
  5. Make ready 1 teaspoon ginger
  6. Prepare 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  7. Make ready 1 tablespoon powdered black pepper
  8. Prepare 1 cinnamon stick
  9. Prepare 2 green cardamom
  10. Get 2 clove
  11. Take 3 tablespoon mustard oil
  12. Get 1 tablespoon garlic
  13. Make ready 2 chopped green chilli
  14. Make ready 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  15. Make ready to taste salt
  16. Take 1 tablespoon garam masala powder
  17. Take 1 black cardamom
  18. Take 1 tablespoon black pepper
  19. Prepare 1 tablespoon ghee
Instructions to make Rajma Chawal Recipe:
  1. Firstly, soak the Rajma or Red Kidney Beans overnight for 8 to 10 hours.
  2. Wash it gently and add 2 cups of water, salt and a pinch of turmeric. Pressure cook it for 20-25 minutes.
  3. Now take a spoon and press the kidney bean or soaked Rajma. Once the Rajma becomes soft and mashy; remove it from the heat and keep it aside.
  4. Make a separate paste of ginger- garlic and green chillies.
  5. Now take a pan. Add 2 tbsp oil to it. Once the oil is heated, add black cardamom, green cardamom, cloves, peppercorn and cinnamon to the pan and saute for 1 minute.
  6. Once we get the pleasant smell, add finely chopped onions and cook till they turn to golden brown colour.
  7. Now add finely chopped tomatoes to the pan and cook for medium to high flame for 5 minutes.
  8. Once the tomatoes become soft and mashy; add ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder.
  9. Now cook all the ingredients together till the spices start releasing oil.
  10. Now add rajma to the pan followed by 1 cup of water. Mix well.
  11. Cover the pan and let them cook for another 10 minutes.
  12. After 10 minutes, add 1tbsp ghee to the pan. Sprinkle some coriander leaves. Our Rajma Curry is now ready.
  13. For Rice: - Take a 1 cup of Rice, cook it properly as we cook it in everyday routine.
  14. Now take a serving plate. Spread rice over it. Add rajma curry on it.
