  1. Prepare 28 oz and Marzano peeled tomatoes crushed in the pot

  1. Melt the butter and add the carrots and onions until onions are close to translucent, then add garlic until fragrant
  2. Add the tomatoes, chicken stock,2 tbsp dried basil, 2 bay leaves and a few pinches of salt and sugar, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes on low.
  3. Pull off the heat and let cool for a bit. Use a stick blender until smooth and then taste for seasoning, put the pot on medium heat and add salt to taste, finish with a touch of cream or to taste.
