I can have this pan fried king fish almost everyday as king fish is my favorite fish. Having tried many varieties of fish over the past few years, king fish is still on my top favorite list. Kingfish (Visvon or Surmai) is marinated with spices and herbs for few minutes and then coated with semolina, after which they are shallow fried to crisp. Fried surmai is a typical Goan and Konkani recipe.

Instructions to make Fried king fish:
  1. Grind(pic1) coriander leaves,cuminseeds,garlic and chillies with little water into fine thick paste.now add Kashmiri red chilli powder,turmeric,salt and lemon juice and mix well.(add little water if too thick)
  2. Now wash and pat dry the fish.now apply the masala and leave it for marination for 15 mins.
  3. Now shallow fry the marinated fish.each side for 3 mins till its golden brown in colour.serve hot with salad.enjoy😋
