The ingredients needed to make Idli:
  1. Get 1 bowl semolina
  2. Get 1/2 bowl curd
  3. Get 1/2 bowl water
  4. Get To taste salt
  5. Make ready 1/4 tsp soda bi carb
  6. Prepare 1 tsp oil
Steps to make Idli:
  1. Mix semolina and curd in a mixing bowl. Add salt and water and stir well. Rest for 30 minutes.
  2. After 30 minutes stir the mixture and add soda bi carb and mix and immediately make idlis from the mixture.
  3. Grease the idli mould and put 1 tb spoon mixture in each mould.
  4. Heat 1 glass water in a pressure cooker and when water boils place idli mould in cooker. Place lid and steam for 12 minutes. Switch off the flame. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
  5. Now open the lid and remove idli from the mould with the help of knife. Keep it in a plate.
  6. Serve hot with chutney and sambhar.
