I rarely make this uttapams at home as kids prefer crispy dosas , but me and my hubby like uttapma especially with the addition of onions in that. Whenever we go to murugan idli kadai ( A restaurant originally from Madurai famous for idlis) we order this small onion uttapams and long time i wanted to. I make uttapam often for breakfast but could not post it as my morning hours are usually hectic and I do not have time for taking pictures. Carrot Onion Uttapam Recipe is a nutritious breakfast or dinner made from Ragi Idli Dosa Batter that is packed with taste from the finely chopped onions and green chillies.

Instructions to make Onion-Ragi Mini Uttapam:
  1. In mixing bowl add ragi flour,rawa, curd mix well. Add salt,soda bi carb and enough water to make pouring consistency batter. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Peel and cut onion,put in chopper with green chillies, corainder leaves together and finely chopped it. Take out in small container. Add and mix grated ginger.
  3. Heat 4 cavities non stick tawa. Grease lightly with oil. Pour prepared ragi batter in each cavity of tawa. Sprinkle little onion mixture. Sprinkle little oil. Cook till lower side turn crispy golden brown.
  4. Flip over and cook another side till crispy.
  5. Serve / Relish Delicious Hot Onion Ragi Mini Uttapam with coconut chutney and tea/ coffee at tea time.

I make uttapam often for breakfast but could not post it as my morning hours are usually hectic and I do not have time for taking pictures.
